Which chemicals do we avoid in our natural hair care range?
Green People is known for its natural hair
care products which are free from many of the synthetic chemicals that are
so often used in shampoos and conditioners. There is growing concern over the huge
number of chemicals to which we are exposed in our everyday beauty routines, and
our products offer an alternative to this.

Which chemicals do we avoid and why?
Here are just some of the chemicals which we are committed to keeping out of our
natural hair care products:
-
Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and Sodium laureth sulphate (SLES).
These chemicals are present in many shampoos, shower gels and hand washes, as they
help to create the foaminess that we have come to expect from these products. Unfortunately,
SLS is also a known irritant and can lead to dry, itchy skin in some people.

-
Parabens. This family of chemicals are preservatives and
are commonly used in shampoos, moisturisers and other personal care products. Questions
have been raised over their safety although nothing has yet been proven. Either
way, Green People does not use any parabens in any of its natural shampoos or conditioners.
-
Artificial fragrances. Whilst these may smell pleasant,
unfortunately they are also a leading cause of skin allergy. At Green People, we
only use natural ingredients to create the fragrances in our
natural hair care range, and we think they smell just as delightful as their
artificial equivalents – if not more so!
