What ingredients will you never find in our organic shampoos?
An increasing number of people are making the decision to switch to an
organic shampoo and conditioner after many years of using any hair care
products found on supermarket shelves. Natural shampoos are more expensive due to
the higher cost of ingredients so why is it that more and more people are choosing
to go down the organic route?
No SLS, artificial fragrances, parabens…
A significant proportion of our customers tell us that they are now using our organic shampoos because they are the only range
that they don’t react to. This is because they don’t have many of the chemicals
to which people are commonly sensitive, such as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. This is
a cheap-to-produce foaming agent that is used in everything from shampoos to liquid
soaps, but is also a common skin irritant.
We also avoid the use of artificial fragrances – or parfum – in our natural hair
care products, which is another common cause of sensitivity. Although our shampoos
do have a scent, this comes from the essential oils of plants such as Rosemary and
Lavender rather than chemicals, and a lot fewer people react as a result. For those
whose skin cannot even tolerate essential oils, we have a range known as Organic
Base, which is ultra-mild and made with no added essential oils.
Other chemicals we avoid in our organic shampoos include parabens, phthalates, ethyl
alcohol, DEA, TEA, Propylene glycol and PEGs.
