7th October 2010 - 57% concerned about ingredients in cosmetics

A poll of people around the world found that the majority (57%) are either somewhat or extremely concerned about the ingredients used in their cosmetics, and many feel that natural products are a safer choice.

However, just 16% rated themselves as highly informed about how the chemicals used in their skin care products may affect their health, indicating an openness to education on toxic beauty matters.

The general feeling appears to be that people feel natural skin care products are better for them because they are less likely to contain ingredients such as parabens that may irritate their skin.

'Healthy halo'

This so-called ‘healthy halo’ has seen more and more people turning to natural skin care in recent years.

Green People’s natural products are well known for their gentle action on the skin and do not contain SLS, parabens, phthalates or synthetic fragrances, nor many more of the harsh artificial ingredients that are often found in mainstream cosmetics.

The study also saw that consumers still demand performance when it comes to their cosmetics, however, and some have not yet the confidence in natural skin care to switch from synthetic brands.

Innovative natural cosmetics

At Green People, we are constantly innovating by introducing exciting new natural ingredients to offer evermore effective products that are still very gentle on the skin.

For example, there are two active ingredients – Caesalpinia spinosa and Enteromorpha compressa – which are both natural and have been proven to reduce wrinkles and increase long-term firming and toning of the skin.

These have been introduced into some of Green People’s most popular natural skin care products, adding anti-ageing benefits through natural means.
