Ethical values drive 30% of shoppers
A new survey has revealed that 30% of shoppers would be tempted to try a new product if it was ethically sourced.
The research, which was carried out across the UK, France, Germany and Spain, suggests that more consumers are interested in looking more deeply into how their purchases are produced.
The chief executive of the company behind the study said: “Shoppers are including ethical judgements more in their shopping decisions but they don’t want to pay a lot more – they want value for their values.
“[Shoppers] want to make a bigger difference through their shopping choices and want companies to help.”
Green People has always felt strongly about behaving ethically, sourcing fairly traded ingredients wherever possible and having many skin care products with a high percentage of certified organic plant material.
Organic certification is only given to places where workers are treated well and the environment is respected so if you want to shop ethically, look out for products sporting the symbols of organic bodies such as The Soil Association, EcoCert and the Organic Food Federation.
