Is your make up fresh and safe?
According to new research, 89% of women aren’t aware of how long they can keep their cosmetics after opening.
Just as food goes off after being open for a period of time so does your make up – and though it may still appear to be performing adequately, it could be harmful to your health.
Whenever beauty products are used and they come into contact with the air, they may also be exposed to bacteria. In older products these bacteria colonies will have grown, putting women at risk of problems such as irritation and infection as a result.
To help people avoid this risk, all make up bears a period after opening symbol on it which indicates how soon the product expires.
Green People’s organic make up bears a little open jar symbol accompanied by either 6m or 12m – meaning 6 months or 12 months. Our mascara and lipstick should both be replaced after 6 months, whilst our eyeshadow palette, concealer and mineral powders last for 12.
