Organic Shea butter – Ghana
Shea butter comes from the seed of the African shea tree. Firstly, the outer pulp
of the fruit is removed and the nut is shelled. Once shelled, the seed is roasted
and the oils extracted by grinding or pressing.
We get our Shea butter from a project in Ghana which has a capacity of over 120
tonnes a year. It provides employment for 600 women, with most creating the butter
but 60 making baskets for the butter to be delivered in.
