Scent Free Sun Lotion SPF25

"I have suffered prickly heat for the past few years and I am aslo allergic to anything containing fragrance or parfum. I have tried every product out there and at last I have found one that works for me. I have recently returned from a very hot holiday in Turkey and I have to say I did not suffer prickly heat or any skin condition the two weeks. I was totally amazed and delighted and would highly recommend this product to anyone with a skin condition. I am so grateful to have found a product which actually works and now I don't have to worry about summer coming or holidays. I have purchased other products from this range and I have not been disappointed. Thank you so much."

"What a fantastic product, i just cannot rave enough about it. I bought this sun cream for my trip to Carribbean. I have skin that tans easily but it is very sensitive to chemicals and if this were not bad enough, I get prickly heat! I used to buy Piz Buin allergy lotion but they recently changed their formula to include something that drove my skin crazy so I have had to find something else that has Titanium dioxide in it as the base to deal with the prickly heat. I am so glad I tried this. I got the best tan ever, my skin was soft and moisturised, it went on easily, gave great protection and not one prickly heat bump to be seen! Hubby has very fair skin, he tried it and loved it too. It is a few weeks since I got back now and usually my skin would be flaking and my tan disappearing but not with this product, it still looks as good as when I got on the plane. So - try it, you will not be disappointed."

Our sun lotions offer around 96% coverage from UVB rays and a factor 50 would only offer 2% more in coverage. However the SPF number only relates to UVB rays, not UVA, and sun lotion needs to be re-applied regularly to maintain protection from both.

The danger in giving a higher SPF factor gives false confidence to stay out in the sun for longer periods. The UVA rays have a deeper effect in the skin cells and you cannot see the damage this is causing (the UVB rays are the ones that cause the burning on the surface of the skin).

We therefore recommend that you re-apply sun lotion every couple of hours to maintain protection against both UVA & UVB rays.

All Green People products are free from Alcohol (Ethanol/Ethyl alcohol).

We avoid Ethanol/Ethyl alcohol because it acts as a penetration enhancer and dissolves the oils that play an important role in the skin’s barrier function.  It also sensitizes the skin and may lead to excessive dryness.

However there are many other types of alcohol, and some are beneficial to us – examples include Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Retinol (Vitamin A) and Cholesterol.  Some alcohols are fatty waxes that act as emulsifiers – examples are Cetyl alcohol and Cetearyl alcohol, both of which act as emollients on the skin having a smoothing, softening action. 

The Sun Lotion SPF25 can be used on children, although the lotion base might be a little heavy (thick) for very young skin. That is why we also produce two sun lotions specifically for children.

However, the UV filters used in both the adult and children's sun lotions is the same and they all provide protection against UVB and UVA.
