Do I get twice the protection by using a sun lotion SPF30 compared to an organic sun lotion with SPF15?

The answer is No! SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and measures the protection against UVB provided by a sunscreen. An organic sun lotion with SPF 15, when applied properly, protects you against 93% of UVB. An SPF 30 sun lotion protects you against 97% UVB. In reality, the level of additional protection offered by SPF ratings higher than 25 is insignificant as even at SPF25, only 4% of the UVB light is getting through to the skin. Reapply-Reapply!
