Will a facial oil give my dry, 50-something skin a boost?

Facial oils have become very popular in the last few years and at Green People we think they are brilliant.

I have been lucky to have good skin all my life but since hitting 50 I have found my skin getting increasingly dry and 'thirsty'. I cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and evening. I have never used a facial oil but wonder if I should start?

Yes! A facial oil would be an excellent addition to your skin care regime. It is only natural for your skin to change through your life and as you age, the epidermis (top layer of skin) becomes thinner and does not retain water so well. This is likely to be at least part of the reason you are experiencing dryness.

We highly recommend our Age Defy+ Cell Enrich Facial Oil, made with Rosehip, Perilla, Blackcurrant Seed, Evening Primrose and Pomegranate oils. It restores your skin’s suppleness and elasticity, promotes cell regeneration and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

You should cleanse and tone as usual, apply the facial oil sparingly over the face and décolletage with light tapping motions. Then gently stroke the oil over the skin, starting at the base of the neck and working upwards and outwards to the forehead and temples. Allow the oil time to soak in, then blot off any excess with a tissue.

Alternatively, combining the Cell Enrich Facial oil with the Age Defy+ Hydrate and Renew Serum provides the perfect primer under make up, mix the serum with the facial oil on the back of your hand, then apply together.
