If you’re getting married in the UK and need a little help with your pre-wedding skin care routine at home, read on!

Here you’ll discover bridal skin care routines and tips for the groom using natural beauty products to keep your skin calm and radiant during the lead-up to your wedding day.

When to start a pre-wedding skin care routine

You may have booked your venue and chosen your flowers but that still leaves plenty of time to prepare your sensitive skin for the big day.

It’s best to start a pre-wedding skin care routine around 3-6 months before your wedding day. We advise this because it can take skin as long as 3 months to adjust to changes to your routine.

The earlier you start your pre-bridal skin care routine and the longer you stick with it, the more skin-calming the results will be. You’ll also reduce your risk of experiencing a sensitivity or a skin reaction just before your wedding day.

When building a pre-bridal skin care routine it’s worth reviewing your wellbeing products too.

Planning a wedding is stressful and anxiety can trigger skin changes. To nurture calm and collected thoughts add our Time to Relax essential oil blend to a wellbeing diffuser or use our Time to Smile blend to boost optimistic thoughts that help you to enjoy planning your wedding day.

Pre-wedding skin care for the bride

Our purest cleanser for brides is our Scent Free Cleanser & Make-Up Remover. A non-fragranced, organic cream cleanser that can be used by brides with sensitive skin, this is rich in Squalane emollient actives and anti-inflammatory ingredients that gently nourish and soothe your skin each time you cleanse.

Follow each cleanse, morning and evening, with an application of Scent Free Hydrating Calming Serum. This softens and nourishes all skin types with an unfragranced blend of soothing plant extracts including Marshmallow, Chamomile and Seaweed.

Lastly, apply a vitamin-rich layer of nutrients with the Scent Free 24-Hour Cream. Packed with natural anti-ageing plant actives, this best-selling organic face cream supports natural skin health with a gentle moisture-retaining complex to soothe and revitalise.

Pre-wedding skin care for the groom

There’s lots that grooms can do to support healthy skin during the lead-up to their wedding day.

Cleanse daily with a certified organic exfoliator and face wash for men. Our No. 1 Exfoliating Face Scrub freshens skin with zingy Grapefruit while Bamboo Extract and Cranberry Powder buff away dead cells to prevent them from congesting pores and causing breakouts. A non-scratchy scrub, its deep-cleansing power is great for lifting dirt from the skin without irritation or causing facial hair to frizz.

Once the skin is clean, use the Green People for Men No.7 Antioxidant Repair Serum. Non-greasy and non-comedogenic, it won’t cause breakouts but will feed the skin powerfully hydrating actives that sink in deep and fast to replenish dry skin and take the sting out of your morning grooming routine. Just as easy to apply as moisturiser, it’s a quick way to relieve and balance tight skin. If your skin is prone to redness or breakouts, make your serum work harder by mixing either our anti-redness or our balancing drops to your serum before you apply it to the skin.

If you’ve decided to be a clean-shaven groom on your wedding day the Men No.2 Soothing Shaving Gel will make it easy to swap straggly beard hair for a fresh, clean shave. This organic shave gel for men lifts hair shafts to prepare for a close shave and contain a slip-creating Seaweed Extract that prevents razor burn and helps to reduce nicks and cuts.

Anti-redness & anti-blemish essentials for bride and groom

If skin redness is a concern, our Age Defy+ Soothing Anti-Redness Oil Serum can be applied neat to areas most prone to redness or mixed with your scent-free serum and applied to the face and neck.

Suitable for both bride and groom, this is a simple addition to your pre-wedding skin care routine to promote an evenly toned complexion.

Likewise, if either the bride or groom has a tendency to develop spots, our Age Defy+ Purifying Balancing Oil Serum is an excellent choice for clearing congested skin.

Pre-wedding sun protection and tanning

Be sure to apply SPF30 sun cream to face and body daily during the lead-up to your wedding. These high-factor sun care products won’t stop you from achieving sun-kissed skin but can help to prevent sunburn and prickly heat from spoiling your wedding photos.

You can also use organic tanning drops and self tan to develop a sunless tan before your wedding day. Try them out well in advance of the big day so you can find the perfect colour for you.
