ON TREND: WITCH HAZEL
A skin care staple for spot-prone skin, Pinterest searches for Witch Hazel increased by a staggering 305% last year!
A powerful weapon in the fight against adult acne, Witch Hazel is one of the best natural ingredients for spotty skin and a key ingredient in our foaming face washes.
Designed to gently care for teenage skin, our Oy! Foaming Face Wash combines Witch Hazel with skin-balancing Tea Tree and redness-reducing Willow Bark extract to help teens actively fight spots and achieve clear skin confidence.
For adult spot-prone skin we created our Foaming Face Wash. Made without skin-drying alcohol or SLS, this combines free-radical fighting Green Tea with anti-blemish Witch Hazel to create a gentle face wash that deeply cleanses the skin and helps keep blemishes at bay.
ON TREND: BENEFICIAL BACTERIA
Prebiotics are becoming an increasingly popular skin care ingredient and are a natural ingredient that we have long-held in high regard.
Not sure if Prebiotic skin care is right for you? If you have acne, skin inflammations or body odour it may be that the volume of ‘bad’ bacteria on your skin is outnumbering the amount of ‘good’ bacteria present on the skin surface.
Applying prebiotic skin care can help to address this balance by encouraging the growth of good bacteria and restricting the growth of bad bacteria.
The prebiotic we use in our skin care is Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide and you can find out more about this remarkable ingredient read our post on the benefits of prebiotic skin care.
ON TREND: WATER-LESS SKIN CARE
Concerns over sustainability and a consumer demand for more concentrated, effective products have resulted in a war on water being declared! Instead of pumping our products full of water, Green People uses Aloe Vera as a base in virtually all our skin and body care products.
An ultra-gentle moisturiser, the Aloe Vera we use in our body care is certified organic and, because Aloe Vera also has powerful antiseptic and antifungal properties, we also use it in our range of natural toothpastes.
ALOE VERA BASED SUN CARE
In addition to having excellent moisturising properties, Aloe Vera is known to have a cooling effect on the skin.
This makes it the ideal ingredient for use in sun care but, before you slather on the sun cream make sure you check that your sun care is alcohol-free and contains a high percentage of Aloe Vera.
This is because when Aloe Vera based sun care contains drying alcohol and / or mineral oils the beneficial effects of Aloe Vera can be diminished.
For this reason, we do not use either of these ingredients in our sun care range and instead pack our sun creams with reef-friendly plant extracts and up to 70% organic Aloe Vera. Our after sun lotions are packed with skin-soothing plant oils and over 80% Aloe Vera.
ON TREND: BOLD LIPSTICK
Bold lip colours are back with a bang and Google searches for “standout lip colour” have reportedly increased by 467%.
Want to deepen or brighten the colour of your organic lipstick? Our Enrich & Enhance Lip Primer is designed to prevent lipstick from fading and has a colourless base that enhances the natural hues of your lipstick whilst locking in hydration.
Simply apply it to the lips before applying your lipstick and let the natural ingredients enhance your lipstick’s colour and staying power.
ON TREND: SQUALANE
Packed with natural skin-balancing properties, Squalane has always been in fashion at Green People HQ and we were delighted when the fashion-bible Vogue hailed it one of their buzzword ingredients of 2019.
A natural alternative to mineral oils, Squalane acts as a natural emollient and antioxidant but its main purpose is to deliver long lasting hydration to the skin. It’s also incredibly anti-inflammatory so is the ideal ingredient for our range of organic moisturisers.
