Green People has been involved in supporting the work of Penny Brohn Cancer Care for over eight years, donating over £80,000 during this time.
What does Penny Brohn Cancer Care do?
Penny Brohn offers invaluable assistance to those living with cancer through a holistic approach.
The charity’s approach works hand-in-hand with medical treatment, providing a unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual support using complementary therapies and self-help techniques, including practical advice on nutrition.
This complementary approach can transform lives – giving people practical tools to improve their daily quality of life and helping to manage the fear of cancer.
Speaking of the work of Penny Brohn, Green People's founder Charlotte Vøhtz said:
"We chose Penny Brohn Cancer Care because of the complementary, whole-person system of care they deliver – ‘The Bristol Approach'
"It transforms the lives of people living with cancer through a unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual support, with tools like complementary therapies, lifestyle information and self-help techniques.
"We have been raising funds since 2006, and hope that this will continue for many more years."
The charity has helped people all over the UK from its Bristol centre, from which it runs courses to help people live well with the impact of cancer.
CEO of Penny Brohn Cancer Care, Michael Connors, explained the importance of Green People's continued support to the charity:
"We cannot thank Green People enough for their fantastic and dedicated support of Penny Brohn over the last eight years. It has been a pleasure working with all of the team.
"An amazing £84,000 has been donated over the years and has gone towards helping people to live well with cancer."
Penny Brohn and the Green People Team
Green People has been awarded a Loyal Service Award by the wonderful and dedicated team at Penny Brohn in recognition of our fundraising efforts over the past eight years through donations, providing products for raffles and supplying toiletries for the clients bedrooms.
Green People's Charlotte, Sue, Ian and Sven Erik were also invited to attend a lunch reception hosted by Prince Charles at the Orchard Room of Highgrove House, for the Penny Brohn 30th anniversary celebrations.
The Prince of Wales summed it up the work of Penny Brohn perfectly when he said:
