There’s a great reason why Green People is using zebra print artwork on packaging and emails. These magnificent, monochrome-coated creatures live in herds, known as a dazzle, and the uniqueness of their patterns earned them a spot as the symbol for Green People’s charity of the year, The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK (EDS UK).
EDS and zebras
A rare group of syndromes, Cardiac-valvular EDS (cvEDS), Vascular EDS (vEDS) and Hypermobile EDS to name a few, Ehlers-Danlos is incurable and has many symptoms which can be mistaken for other conditions. This means that it typically takes more than a decade for a person with Ehlers-Danlos to be diagnosed.
The charity EDS UK aims to change that and uses the zebra as their symbol to remind medics to consider the extraordinary when making a diagnosis by remembering the mantra: ‘Sometimes when you hear hooves, it really is a zebra.’

To help EDS UK with their quest to make invisible illness visible, we’re putting the zebra in the spotlight through our artwork and, it wouldn’t surprise us if, instead of seeing reindeer pull our Christmas collection sleigh, you see zebra…
