Key Plant Actives

Hibiscus

Hibiscus extract is rich in Anthocyans, which have specific activity in protecting cell integrity and DNA in the cell nuclei.

Hibiscus extract also inhibits the activity of the enzyme Elastase which is responsible for breaking down Elastin, the principle factor in maintaining the elasticity of the skin.

By reducing elastin degradation, skin elasticity is increased thereby reducing sagging and wrinkle formation.
  • Preserves skin cell health by protecting DNA in the cell nuclei
  • Increases skin elasticity by reducing elastin degradation
Also known as: Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract

Pineapple

Pineapple extract is rich in the substance Bromelain which is a protein digesting enzyme.  Applied to the skin this enzyme breaks down the protein bonds (corneodesmosomes) that hold dead skin cells onto the surface of the stratum corneum.

This allows excess dead cells to be shed from the skin, exposing younger, more vibrant cells and refining the complexion.

  • ‘Invisible’ chemical exfoliation – intercellular ‘glue’ that attaches dead skin cells to the surface is broken down
  • Skin is refined and looks younger
  • Combined with ‘skin whitening’ plant complex with Hibiscus to enhance whitening effect

Also known as Ananas sativus fruit extract or Bromelain

Damask Rose

Rose water is the aqueous solution of the distillate of rose petals and hydrates the skin for a plump, smooth and toned complexion.

Rose essential oil, which is a key component of the Rose Flower Water used in this formula, has been shown to influence the development and differentiation of skin cells called keratinocytes. These are responsible for controlling skin texture, moisturisation, hyperpigmentation and wrinkle formation.

  • Anti-inflammatory and skin-healing properties
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Soothes sun-kissed skin
  • Rose essential oil accelerates the recovery of damaged skin barrier function

Also known as: Rosa damascena
