“For soft, hydrated skin, the best base oils to look for are Jojoba oil, Almond oil, Rosehip oil, Sunflower oil, Pomegranate Oil and Squalane that is derived from Olive. These skin-softening ingredients anchor moisture into the skin and because they are high in fatty acids they also have powerful emollient properties.”

PREVENTING DRY SKIN AT NIGHT

Much like we add an extra layer of clothing to lock in warmth, dry skin needs an extra dose of hydration to maintain its moisture levels during the cold weather seasons. Layering your night-time skin care is easy to do and helps to trap moisture into dry skin.

  1. Cleanse: remove make-up and dirt
  2. Scrub: lift away dead skin cells twice a week
  3. Serum: apply your serum first as this sinks deepest into the skin tissue
  4. Cream: apply your night cream and eye cream using a tapping motion to penetrate the skin barrier
  5. Oil: select a nutrient-rich facial oil and lightly tap this into the skin to seal in hydration
