Menopause brings changes for the mind as much as it does the body. In this post, we pick out the best aromatherapy wellbeing products for helping to manage menopause symptoms.

Best essential oil blends for sleep and hot flushes

With night sweats, insomnia and hot flushes to contend with, it’s not surprising that the NHS lists difficulty sleeping as one of the main symptoms of the menopause. If you are experiencing recurrent insomnia or hot flushes at night, we encourage you to discuss this with your GP.

We also have some tips for how you can use aromatherapy oils for menopause to support your sleep.

Our favourite scent for when we struggle to sleep is Alexandra Kay Time to Sleep. A pure essential oil blend, it is highly concentrated with sweet citrus top notes, soothing Lavender middle notes and base notes of Frankincense, Patchouli and Vetivert.

This essential oil is known as the “oil of tranquillity” due to its calming qualities.

For a relaxing night’s sleep, we add it to a diffuser and mist it just before bedtime. We also place a few drops on the corners of our pillow and inhale its sleep-inducing aroma as we rest.

If you are concerned about your mental wellbeing during menopause, it is always best to discuss any concerns that you have with your GP. You can also help to support your concentration and focus by with aromatherapy products for menopause.

Some aromatherapy essential oils have properties that can help with mental clarity and concentration during menopause.

Whenever we need a moment of peace, calm and concentration we add a few drops of Time to Relax to a portable diffuser and inhale its soothing herbal scent. Blended to help calm anxieties, it contains Sweet Basil which has Liquorice-like properties that help increase concentration and clear the mind.

Another scent that is known to strengthen memory is Clove. We use Clove to make our Time to Ease Muscle Relax Body Oil which can be used to ease feelings of tiredness and tension in the body. It also features a zesty Lemon essential oil which has properties that aid concentration.
