Recyclable toothpaste packaging from Green People

Recyclable toothpaste packaging from Green People

There has been a huge surge in interest in eco-friendly toothpaste and recyclable toothpaste packaging in the UK over the last few years.

We’re delighted to be offering one of our natural and organic toothpastes in recyclable packaging, with others recyclable through Terracycle.

Green People Toothpaste

What’s the problem with toothpaste packaging?

Toothpastes are traditionally packaged in squeezy tubes that are made from recyclable PP plastic but embedded with a layer of aluminium.

The aluminium layer prevents the toothpaste from drying out but is not a recyclable material and so, until recently, this meant that most toothpaste tubes were not recyclable through council recycling schemes.

Show me the recyclable toothpaste!

In 2022 Green People proudly unveiled its first aluminium-free, 100% recyclable toothpaste packaging, Fresh Mint and Aloe Vera Toothpaste with Fluoride.

This natural toothpaste is packaged in a tube that’s made using layers of 50% recycled plastic and can be recycled at the kerbside.

We think you’ll like what’s inside the recyclable tube too! We use ingredients such as organic Aloe Vera, Myrrh and Olive Leaf to create an effective toothpaste that is gentle on sensitive gums.

  • Natural and organic ingredients
  • Made without SLS
  • Vegan and cruelty-free

Can you recycle other toothpaste tubes?

We are hoping to transfer more of our toothpastes into more easily recyclable packaging.

For now, Green People’s other toothpaste packaging is made using recyclable PP plastic and aluminium. These tubes are best recycled through Terracycle.

These include:
