What we leave out
Chemical UV filters we refuse to formulate with.
These common chemical UV filters are linked to hormone disruption and are two of the main ingredients banned in reef-protection legislation (Hawaii, Palau, Bonaire) for bleaching coral. We use mineral and next-generation filters instead — reef safe and kinder to skin.
What we leave out
No ethanol drying out your skin barrier.
Ethanol gives sun creams a light, fast-drying feel but it strips the skin's natural lipid barrier, triggers stinging on broken or sun-exposed skin and can worsen prickly heat. Our formulas leave it out so protection feels comfortable, even on reactive skin.

Every Green People sun cream is patch-tested by an independent dermatology lab on volunteers with sensitive skin. That means fewer surprises for eczema, rosacea and prickly-heat prone skin and the confidence to use it every day.

Instead of filling the bottle with synthetics, we build our formulas around ingredients like edelweiss, avocado, olive and green tea - antioxidants that support skin exposed to UV, heat and salt water.

We use non-nano zinc oxide: particles large enough to stay on the surface of the skin rather than being absorbed. You get broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection from the moment you apply, without the concerns linked to nano-sized filters.
