According to the Chemical Safe Skincare Campaign, the average woman will introduce up to 175 chemicals to her skin every day and the majority will be absorbed into the blood stream.
This can cause a build up of toxins, burdening the body.
Clean beauty products contain pure, natural ingredients that benefit the skin whilst being safe for the skin and for the environment.
It's easy to make the switch to clean beauty
More and more people are making the switch to clean beauty in the UK and choosing organic skin care to help them look and feel healthier.
Our organic cleansers, serums, eye creams and moisturisers are made from natural oils, extracts and essences which work to give you fresh, clean and glowing skin.
Ethically sourced and carefully formulated, our skin care range restores your skin's natural balance and beauty.
The Green People UK organic beauty range is suitable for people who have sensitive skin or allergies as we do not include any synthetic fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals, SLS/SLES (sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate) or any other unnecessary synthetic substances.
Organic cleansers for a fresh complexion
Cleansing is by far the best thing you can do for your complexion. Every day your skin comes into contact with dirt, oil, grease and airborne pollution. Chemical-based foundation lotions and colour cosmetics are essentially skin pollutants which can have adverse effects if not regularly removed.
The only defence against all this pollution is cleansing. This must be deep enough to be effective, but still very gentle to avoid damaging or drying your skin.
Our organic cleansers are full of natural ingredients such as organic Shea butter which remove impurities and leave your skin feeling soft, balanced and purified. They are free from SLS, a harsh cleansing agent which can easily irritate sensitive skin.
Read our guide about cleansers vs face washes.
Try our clean face washes & cleansers:
Tip: Never wash your face with very hot or ice cold water - both can cause broken capillaries.
Natural serums for energised skin
Serums have now largely taken the place of toners in clean beauty regimes. Read more in Time to tone it down: toner or serum.
Alcohol-based astringent type toners are very harsh and can irritate sensitive skin so it is important to avoid these.
A natural, plant-based serum can support your skin to achieve a better, smoother appearance, helping to reduce visible pores and fine wrinkles and allow your moisturiser to penetrate deeper into your skin.

Plant-rich moisturisers for healthy skin
Along with cleansing, moisturising your skin is essential. The basic law of beauty is that everyone, no matter what skin type they have, should moisturise. Even if your skin is oily it will benefit from a moisturiser.
Moisturising is all about keeping the skin fit for fighting against external problems and to support normal skin function.
Moisturisers seal moisture into skin. So how much should you moisturise? Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it's crying out for moisture. The perfect moisturiser for your skin should go on your skin without feeling greasy and should never irritate or burn.
Avoiding chemical based products and instead using a natural moisturiser rich in vitamins will protect and nourish your skin leaving it feeling hydrated and healthy.
Our organic moisturisers are made with plant Squalane and Jojoba esters that deliver an instant moisture infusion that lasts at least 8 hours.

Moisturising tip:
Always apply your moisturiser immediately after cleansing and toning your face, when the skin is still moist.
The layers of plant oils that are in the moisturiser will then trap the extra water (moisture) next to the skin.
This is especially important for older skin because the fibres of collagen and elastin become less efficient at retaining moisture as they age.
Weekly skin treats
Purifying exfoliators for pore-deep cleansing
Exfoliating can often be a step in the weekly skin care routine that many of us miss. But by exfoliating your skin properly twice a week, you will notice an almost immediate difference.
You remove excess dead skin cells, which immediately improves your skin’s texture and appearance as younger cells are able to come to the surface.
Like cleansing, exfoliating your skin improves circulation, gives your skin a healthy glow and helps your moisturiser to absorb. It may not be suitable for those with very sensitive skin, however.
Try our clean facial scrubs and masks:
Exfoliation tips:
- Exfoliate once or twice a week.
- Choose a very gentle exfoliator to help remove the top layer of dead skin cells that tend to dull your complexion.
- Make sure you use a gentle scrub with tiny grains. Big grains in cheap scrubs can tear skin and cause more harm than good.
- Many high street exfoliators contain tiny plastic particles also known as micro beads or micro plastics, which are now present in all the seas and oceans of the world.
Vitality-enhancing face masks
A weekly face mask can also be a fantastic boost for your skin. Whether you have dry, normal/combination or oily skin a face mask with ingredients suited for your skin type can help to leave you looking radiant and glowing.
